DID YOU KNOW ..Masjid An-Nabawi has 27 sliding domes each about 20 meters wide and made with about 6kg of gold? The idea for these domes came from King Fahd in order to create ventilation for the masjid so pilgrims could focus in their worship. These domes have floral Moroccan wood carved designing in them and was a project that was undertaken in Morocco by about 150 wood carvers for a year. The project was completed in 1992 and in 1993 won the award for ‘Best Innovation’ by the International Association for Automation and Robotics Construction (IAARC) in Houston, USA.
